Everyone needs time to recharge—or recover. Whether you’re planning a vacation, taking a personal day, or staying home sick, Walnet makes it easy for Walgreens employees to manage time-off requests and track their Paid Time Off (PTO) in one convenient place.

No more paperwork, manual logs, or waiting on manager callbacks. With Walnet, everything from checking your PTO balance to submitting a sick day is just a few clicks away.

Here’s how to make the most of it.

What Is Walnet?

Walnet is the official Walgreens employee portal that connects you to key workplace tools: schedules, payroll, HR records, training—and importantly, time-off management.

Accessible from most in-store workstations (and sometimes remotely), Walnet lets you take control of your PTO without needing to go through HR manually.

Step 1: Log In and Find the Time-Off Section

To get started:

  • Visit the Walnet login page (ask your manager if you’re unsure of the link)
  • Enter your employee ID and password
  • Navigate to the menu labeled “Time Off,” “PTO,” or “My HR”

Depending on your role and location, this tab may also be under “Self Service” or “Work Schedule”

Step 2: Check Your PTO Balance

Once inside the PTO dashboard, you can:

  • View your current PTO balance
  • See your accrual rate (how much PTO you earn per pay period)
  • Review used vs. available hours
  • See upcoming scheduled time off
  • Look at PTO rollover status (if applicable)

📌 Tip: Make it a habit to check your balance before planning trips or holidays.

Step 3: Submit a PTO or Sick Day Request

When you’re ready to take time off, here’s how to do it:

  1. Click “Request New Time Off”
  2. Select the type of leave (e.g., vacation, sick, personal)
  3. Choose the start and end date
  4. Add a note or reason if required
  5. Review and click “Submit”

Your manager will receive a notification for approval, and you’ll be alerted through Walnet once it’s processed.

Step 4: Track Status and Approvals

Inside Walnet, you can monitor the progress of your request:

  • Pending: Your manager has not reviewed it yet
  • Approved: Time off has been confirmed—start planning!
  • Declined: You’ll see a reason or comment explaining the decision

You can also cancel or modify a request within the system if plans change.

Managing Sick Time

If you wake up feeling unwell:

  • You can log into Walnet (or call your store, depending on policy)
  • Select Sick Day from the time-off request type
  • Submit for that same day
  • Include a note (e.g., “Flu symptoms” or “Doctor’s appointment”)
  • Follow up with your manager by phone or in person if required

Depending on local labor laws, Walgreens may offer protected sick leave—Walnet will track that for you as well.

PTO Accrual and Eligibility

PTO policies at Walgreens vary by:

  • Job role
  • Employment status (full-time vs part-time)
  • Years of service
  • Local labor laws

But with Walnet, you don’t have to calculate manually. The system does the math and shows your balance clearly in real time.

Additional Features

Walnet also allows you to:

  • View holiday pay eligibility
  • Track floating holidays or personal days
  • Check your attendance history
  • Get alerts about PTO blackouts (e.g., peak holiday weeks)

Taking care of your health and well-being is part of being a great employee—and Walgreens makes it easier with Walnet.

Whether you’re planning ahead or calling out last-minute, Walnet gives you fast, secure access to everything you need to manage your time off. It’s one more way Walgreens helps put employees first.

So next time you need a break, don’t stress—just log into Walnet, click, and breathe easy.
